Masonry contractor work in San Angelo, TX

Masterwork San Angelo Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor in San Angelo, TX, handling 16 kinds of brick, block, stone and concrete work. Most calls start with mortar crumbling out of the joints, a chimney letting water in, or a wall that's cracked or leaning. Others start with a plan for new pavers, a fireplace or an outdoor kitchen. The price turns on how much wall or ground there is, how far the damage goes, the material you pick and how hard the spot is to reach. The schedule turns on the size of the job, the weather and any city inspection. Your estimate gives you your own number.

  • Stone steps climb through a rock garden toward an open black metal gate and a grassy yard.

    Foundation repair

Stair-step cracks in your brick or a door that's started sticking can point to foundation trouble. We find what's moving and repair the foundation and the cracked masonry above it.

  • Outdoor kitchen with a stainless-steel grill and sink set into a gray concrete block counter.

    Chimney repair

Is your chimney letting water in around the ceiling or the fireplace? We repair cracked caps, repoint loose joints and reset brick so the chimney sheds rain again.

  • Brick entry arch with pale stone trim and weathered mortar joints above a wooden arched doorway.

    Tuckpointing

Tuckpointing is how we replace worn mortar on a brick house. We grind out the old joints and fill them with new mortar matched to your brick's color and strength.

  • Stone walkway winds through a gravel garden to a raised flagstone patio beside a house.

    Brick repair

Cracked, chipped or loose brick lets water into the wall behind it. We cut out the bad ones and lay in matching brick that ties into the wall around them.

  • Wide driveway paved with dark gray rectangular pavers and a light stone border in front of a house.

    Driveway pavers

We build paver driveways on a dug-out, packed base so the pavers sit flat under the weight of your cars, for homeowners replacing a cracked slab or a gravel drive.

  • Gray paver patio with a curved dark border sits beside a low concrete block retaining wall.

    Retaining wall construction

Need to hold back soil where your yard slopes? We build block and stone retaining walls with drainage behind them, so water runs out instead of pushing on the wall.

  • Illuminated stone retaining wall beside a house, with black metal railing and planted garden beds.

    Masonry restoration

An older brick or stone house gets worn, stained and patched over the years. We bring the walls back with careful repairs, cleaning and mortar matched to the original.

  • Stone masonry patio with curved seating walls, a built-in outdoor kitchen counter, and a circular fire pit.

    Fireplace installation

We build brick and stone fireplaces for living rooms and patios, from the firebox, where the fire burns, up through the chimney and down to the hearth in front.

  • A stone veneer outdoor kitchen sits beneath a black pergola, with a built-in grill and wooden patio seating.

    Stone veneer installation

Stone veneer is thin real or cast stone set over an existing wall. We put it on house fronts, columns and fireplace surrounds when you want the look of stone.

  • White gazebo stands inside a curved retaining wall made of gray concrete blocks in a landscaped lawn.

    Concrete block walls

We lay concrete block walls for property lines, privacy and raised beds, with steel and grout filling the hollow centers wherever the wall needs the extra strength.

  • Curved light-gray paver walkway around a swimming pool, with landscaped beds and a covered patio.

    Foundation block wall installation

Putting an addition or a garage on block? We lay the foundation block walls on a solid footing, square and level, so the framing goes up on a true base.

  • A stone outdoor fireplace with a lit fire sits beneath a timber pergola, surrounded by block counters and flowers.

    Outdoor kitchen masonry

We build the brick, block and stone structure of an outdoor kitchen, from the grill island to the counters and bar, made to stand up to the weather outside.

  • A broad brick-paver driveway and patio curve around a gravel yard beside a house.

    Walkway construction

We build walkways in pavers, brick, flagstone or concrete, from the driveway to the front door or out into the yard, on a packed base that keeps them even underfoot.

  • Dark rectangular stone walkway beside a red brick house, bordered by white porch columns and railing.

    Brick wall installation

We lay new brick walls for gardens, entries and property lines, and we build brick to match your existing house when you're adding on.

  • A curved concrete walkway leads to a house entrance framed by stone pillars and landscaped flower beds.

    Stone masonry

We lay natural stone walls, columns, steps and planters, each piece cut and fitted by hand, for homeowners who want stone that's solid all the way through.

  • A brick house porch is bordered by a raised bed of river stones, flowering shrubs, and pale stone edging.

    Brick pointing

Joints turning sandy or sitting back from the face of the brick? Brick pointing fills those worn joints with fresh mortar before water gets deep enough to loosen the brick.

Who we are

Masterwork San Angelo Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor in San Angelo, TX, and I started it in 2021 so I could do careful work under my own name. We're licensed and fully insured, we handle 16 kinds of brick, block, stone and concrete work, and we're best known for repointing and brick repair. I care most that the work outlasts the bill, because a repair that looks good for a year and then fails isn't a repair at all. You can read more about our crew and how we work.

Why hire our crew

  • You'll understand the fix first

I point at the wall and explain what the mortar and brick are doing and why it's happening. You know what the fix is before you agree to anything, and you leave knowing your house a little better.

  • We fix the cause first

Before we touch a cracked or stained wall, we look for what's feeding it, like a leaking downspout or water running toward the house. Fixing that first means the repair isn't just covering up the problem.

  • Joints held to an old-school standard

I learned under a mason who made me tear out joints that weren't straight and lay them again, and we still hold our joints and lines to that. Full, straight joints shed water better, and that's what keeps a wall sound.

What happens after you call

  1. Call or send the form

Call (325) 292-0348 or send the form with what you're seeing and the address. We reply within one business day to set a time to come out. If you've got photos of the cracks, the chimney or the spot for new work, send those too, because they help me plan the visit.

  2. We look and put it in writing

I come out myself to look at the job and answer every question you've got, and the estimate is free with no obligation. Then you get a written estimate that spells out what we'll do and why we'd do it that way, so you can weigh it against anyone else's.

  3. We do the work

I work right alongside the crew, so the person you talked to is the one running your job and nothing you asked for gets lost. When a job needs a city permit, we handle the paperwork with the city's Building Permits & Inspections office and plan our work around its inspections.

  4. We walk the finished job

Before we pack up, I walk you through the finished work so you can see every joint and ask about anything that catches your eye. We clean up after ourselves, and you'll know what to keep an eye on with that wall from here on.
