How I learned this trade and why I started here
I learned masonry under a strict old-school mason who made me tear out any joint that wasn't straight and lay it again until it was. I didn't love that at the time. I'm grateful for it now, because it's why I started Masterwork San Angelo Concrete & Masonry here in San Angelo in 2021, so I could do the work that carefully under my own name.
Most calls start with crumbling mortar, a chimney letting water in, or someone who wants new brick, block, stone or pavers built right the first time. We're best known for repointing, which means cutting out worn mortar and packing in fresh, and for brick repair. San Angelo's residential code rates weathering here as moderate. That sounds mild until a few years of sun and water running the wrong way get into a soft joint. I care most that the work outlasts the bill, because a repair that looks good for a year and then fails isn't a repair at all. I'd also like you to understand your house a little better by the time we leave.

What working with us is like
You see what we see
We walk you along the wall and show you what the mortar and brick are doing and why. You'll understand the fix before you agree to anything, so you're never just taking our word for it.
We find the cause before we fix it
Cracked brick and washed-out joints usually have a reason, like a leaking downspout or water draining toward the wall. We look for that first, because patching over the cause just means paying for the same repair again.
Straight joints and true lines
I learned under a boss who made us redo anything that wasn't right, and we still hold our joints and lines to that standard. If it isn't right, we take it out and lay it again before you ever have to point at it.
The person you meet runs the job
I come out to look at each job, and I'm on site working with our crew once it starts. Nothing you told me at the estimate gets lost passing it along, because there's no one to pass it to.
Our license, insurance and how we handle permits
Serving San Angelo Since 2021
Licensed and fully insured
Licensed and fully insured. Masonry is heavy work around your house, so you shouldn't have to wonder who's covered, and you're welcome to ask me about it at the estimate.
City permits and inspections
When a job needs a city permit, we handle the paperwork with San Angelo's Building Permits & Inspections office and plan our work around the inspections. That way nothing gets covered up before the city has had its look.
